Welcome to the home of belly dance classes in Wiltshire and Charlton Kings.
We have weekly classes in Swindon catering for beginners through to advanced dancers and run workshops throughout the Wiltshire area. From September 08 onwards our Tuesday night classes in Charlton Kings and Thursday nights in Devizes are also running on a weekly basis - great!
Workshops / classes are suitable for dancers of all abilities and the emphasis is on not just learning belly dancing but learning alongside great people, just like you, and having FUN, FUN, FUN. Check out the many photos of our classes to see evidence that you don't need to expose your tummy to take part.... yes, we know this is the most common reason that ladies hold back! The weekly classes don’t have to be booked in advance but we advise dancers to pre-book workshops as they are very popular and we limit numbers to make sure you get the most from your classes with us.

SWINDON
Wednesday EveningsThe Kings Hotel,
Wood Street,
Old Town,
Swindon,
SN1 4ABThere are three levels of class each Wednesday. See below for details and to judge which will suit your skill level. 6.00 - 7.00 Early-Bird Beginners: Because we know that there are those who can make early times and those who can't we have two beginners classes catering for the same level of dancer - just in different time slots. This is the earlier class obviously and is for total beginners and those who are total beginners and those who have a little belly dance experience. As with the 'Late Beginners' we'll presume no previous knowledge of belly dance and go at the pace of the class throughout the hour. Each class will be packed with simple belly dance elements which we'll then use in small routines to consolidate your wiggle-ability.
7.00 - 8.00 Late Beginners: If you are new to belly dancing or you haven't wobbled the belly in a while the this class is suitable for you. As ever with our classes you'll learn all you need to know to be able to perform simple but impressive belly dance routine as well as have an understanding and ability that will enable you to create your own routines from the stock of moves you've learnt.
8.00 - 9.00: For those of you who have taken courses with us before, took part in the previous class, or who are experienced dancers, this is the class for you. During the weeks you'll be covering all the major variations that take you a step further along your dancing journey with our experienced teachers to inspire your dancing to new heights. Some of the belly dance genres we've covered at this level are Oriental, Kashlima, East Coast Fusion, Tribal, Chiftitelli, Baladi, Turkish, Egyptian and Urban Fusion.
9.00 - 9.30: Speciality dancing: This month our theme is Saiidi - both traditional and modern interpretations. Parts of our choreography are already housed on YouTube. In general this class is for those who are experienced dancers wanting to add new dimensions to their dance. To take part in this section of the night you should be comfy with musical interpretation, layering, and advanced isolations. We can advise you at classes in you're in doubt. Themes covered recently are: bollywood, drum solos, dancing as a troupe, props including advanced veil, cane and Zills etc.
Fees:
All classes are £5 per hour so the last class - 9.00 - 9.30 half hour 'special' - is £2.50,
If you take two hour classes the fee is £8 for both combined and if you stay from 7 - 9.30 all three costs £10

If you're thinking about coming along to our beginner / improvers belly dancing workshops and want to know what to expect and a little more about belly dancing. Before launching into a sample of what belly dancing is, and what it isn't, let me give you the contact details so you can book your course (swindon_belly_dancer@hotmail.co.uk) and to say that this is a ladies only affair at all venues - sorry guys! We have two pages which are dedicated to telling you all about belly dancing so follow the navigation bar to the left to find out more.
Take a look at our web pages to get you ready for a great evening out.... and becoming a belly dance addict! Three generations of my family are now shaking their booties to the belly dance vibe and I'm busily spreading the word amongst all women I come across.
We get a lot of requests from people who are arranging surprises for friends and special events of various sorts where belly dancing is an increasingly popular activity. See the bottom of the page for photos of just some of the events that we've been involved in over the past few months. I think that this is a great way for groups of ladies to have fun together learn a great new dance form. Expect lots of laughter with sweaty, exhausted friends at the end of the day.
Our courses have really struck a chord with ladies and I'm delighted that you're as fired up about it as I am. I've included some details below which you may find useful and without a shadow of doubt you'll end your course by being a very competent belly dancer.....
I hope you'll be as addicted to this dance as I've become.
